Jose Mourinho reveals Paul Pogba problem at Man United
Jose Mourinho admits that he's finding it difficult to judge Paul Pogba's fitness levels for Man United
Jose Mourinho has admitted that he’s finding it difficult to assess Paul Pogba’s fitness situation following the midfielder’s return from injury for Manchester United.
The French midfielder was out of action for two months with a hamstring injury and only made his return to the team for Manchester United during the 4-1 win over Newcastle last weekend.
Pogba will be hoping to build up his fitness levels as quickly as possible but it’s clear that it will take the Frenchman some time to get back to being 100 per cent fit.
The midfielder ended up playing the full 90 minutes against Brighton on Saturday as Manchester United claimed a 1-0 victory over the visitors to boost their Premier League title hopes.
However, Mourinho has admitted that he is finding it hard to judge Pogba’s situation as he works his way back to full fitness.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Saturday, Mourinho said: “It’s hard for me to be on the bench and don’t know when Pogba has to be changed.
“I want to play Fellaini earlier, I want to play [Marouane] Fellaini with Pogba but then I don’t know if Pogba is happy to be on the pitch under the fatigue line, or if the fatigue line has been reached.
“It’s hard to be on the bench with these dilemmas.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action on Tuesday night when they travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford.
The Red Devils, who finished sixth last season, are aiming to keep pace with Manchester City before they welcome Pep Guardiola’s men to Old Trafford on 10 December..
