Romelu Lukaku believes that he and Marcus Rashford can strike up a successful partnership at Manchester United this season.

The Belgian striker has been getting used to life at Old Trafford after signing for the Red Devils from Everton back in July.

Lukaku has made a strong start to his career at Manchester United and has scored seven goals in his first 10 Premier League games for Jose Mourinho’s men.

However, the 24-year-old has come in for criticism for his recent displays after failing to score in his last six appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Manchester United fans will be hoping to see both Rashford and Lukaku thrive together under Jose Mourinho in the coming seasons.

And the Belgian forward is convinced that the pair can strike up a deadly partnership at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Lukaku said of Rashford: “I see a lot of qualities in him that can help me and I think I have a lot of qualities that can help him.

“After the game against Swansea he came to my house with his brother, we were having dinner and he asked, ‘What do you expect from us this season?’

“For me it is easy. I said to him if you eat, I eat. If you score a goal I know there will be space for me to create or score myself.

“If I score I know there will be space for you. That’s how the mentality has to be. I’m not a selfish guy.”

Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Mourinho’s men have been in good form so far this season and head into the game in second place in the Premier League table and five points behind leaders Manchester City.

The Red Devils have not won the title since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
