The promising 22-year-old forward has made an impressive start to his Lyon career following his move to the Ligue 1 side from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Burkino Faso international Traore has scored six goals in 16 appearances in all competitions for the French club in the 2017-18 season so far.
Lyon signed the African forward in an £8.8m deal from defending Premier League champions in the summer transfer window following an impressive loan spell at Ajax last term.
Indeed, Traore scored 13 goals in 38 games in all competitions for the Dutch club as Ajax reached the Europa League final before a 2-0 loss to Manchester United.
He worked under Mourinho at Chelsea before the manager’s dismissal in December 2015 to cast doubt on Traore’s future at the west London club.
Lyon striker Traore has appeared to suggest a move to Manchester United would pique his interest.
“Manchester United? Why not? I will work hard and if opportunities open, why not?” Traore told Onzo Mondial.
He moved to the Chelsea Academy in 2010 after he turned down the chance to join Manchester United but Traore had to wait until 2015 to make his senior debut.
Jose Mourinho handed Traore his first Blues appearance in a 4-0 win against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League group stage.
He netted six times in 16 games during the 2015-16 season but Mourinho was sacked in December 2015.
