Jose Mourinho personally watches Man United transfer target in action – report
Man United boss Jose Mourinho was in the stands to watch Emil Forsberg in action for Sweden against Italy, say reports
Jose Mourinho travelled to Sweden to cast an eye on Manchester United transfer target Emil Forsberg last week, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils boss was in Stockholm to watch Sweden beat Italy 1-0 on Friday night as Forsberg was named as the man of the match for the home side.
According to the report, the 26-year-old winger has been touted as a possible target for the Red Devils and his performance against the Italians last week will only have served to impress Mourinho.
Forsberg played a key role in RB Leipzig’s breakthrough season last term as they finished second in the Bundesliga.
He has scored three goals and made two assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the German side so far this season.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of new players in the coming weeks and months as the January transfer window edges ever nearer.
And it remains to be seen whether Mourinho was impressed enough by what he saw from Forsberg on Friday to ask Manchester United chiefs to make a move for the winger.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will now begin their preparations for their home Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
