Eden Hazard reacts to Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Qarabag
The Chelsea forward praises the defending Premier League champions for an impressive performance in Azerbaijan
Eden Hazard heaped praise on his Chelsea team-mates following their 4-0 win against Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The Belgium international broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 21st minute to settle Chelsea’s nerves after the Azerbaijan outfit hit the woodwork in the early moments of the Champions League clash.
Willian capitalised on his rare start in the Chelsea team under Antonio Conte with two goals either side of half-time to put the west London outfit in control of the European clash.
Spain international Cesc Fabregas scored his 25th goal in Uefa competitions from the penalty spot to help Conte’s side seal their place in the last 16 with a game to spare.
Speaking to BT Sport following Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Qarabag, Hazard declared himself happy with their attacking performance ahead of Saturday’s trip to top-four rivals Liverpool.
“We needed a response. We did everything well,” Hazard said.
“The only thing is that we conceded the first chance. If they scored, maybe the game would have been different. We scored four goals, we did well. We should have scored more goals. We’re pleased with what we did today.”
Hazard has scored three goals and two assist in his last two games in all competitions ahead of Chelsea’s clash against a Liverpool defence that shipped three goals in the second half of their 3-3 draw at Sevilla on Tuesday night.
Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League table but nine points behind leaders Manchester City.
