Frank Lampard blames Alberto Moreno for Liverpool’s collapse at Sevilla
The Chelsea midfielder blames Alberto Moreno for Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Sevilla on Tuesday night

Frank Lampard blamed Alberto Moreno for Liverpool’s 3-3 draw on Tuesday night after Sevilla came from 3-0 down to rescue a Champions League point.
The Spanish defender was used sparingly throughout the 2016-17 season after Jurgen Klopp opted to use midfielder James Milner at left-back.
However, the Reds signed Scottish full-back Andy Robertson in an £8m deal in the summer transfer window to raise concerns about Moreno’s future.
But the former Sevilla defender managed to climb up the pecking order to become Klopp’s first-choice left-back for the 2017-18 season.
Moreno has made a decent start to the campaign with some improved defensive performances and some important contributions going forward.
Roberto Firmino scored either side of Sadio Mane’s header to put Liverpool 3-0 at half-time and leave the Reds on the brink of qualifying for the last 16.
However, Moreno made two defensive mistakes including conceding a penalty to allow Sevilla to reduce the deficit to one goal.
And unsurprisingly given Sevilla’s persistent pressure in the second half, the Spanish outfit scored an added-time equaliser to rescue a point.
Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard was under no illusion that Liverpool’s collapse was a direct result of Moreno’s performance.
“It’s on Moreno,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“The whole game changed on one player. Jurgen Klopp will be so disappointed with him tonight.”
