Dietmar Hamann hailed Mohamed Salah’s brilliant impact from the bench after the Liverpool FC signing scored twice to seal a 3-0 win at Stoke City on Wednesday night.
The Egypt international was dropped to the bench for the trip to the bet365 Stadium as Jurgen Klopp looked to give the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer a well-earned break following his 10th goal in a 1-1 draw with his former club Chelsea last weekend.
Sadio Mane was restored to the Liverpool FC starting line-up and the Senegal international made his mark with a first-half opener thanks to good work from summer signing Dominic Solanke.
Klopp turned to Salah with Liverpool FC’s 1-0 lead looking vulnerable and the former Chelsea winger extended the visitors’ lead with a sumptuous volley following good work from Mane on the wing.
The African forward forced Erik Pieters into a mistake and Salah made it 3-0 with seven minutes remaining after the £39m signing placed his finish under Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant.
Former Liverpool FC midfielder Hamann took to Twitter to lavish praise on Salah following his impressive cameo from the bench on Wednesday night.
Hamann wrote on Twitter: “Salah strikes again. What a finish 👏🏻 #LFC”
The African has now scored 12 times in 14 games in the Premier League this term.
Salah moved to Liverpool from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window to bolster Klopp’s attacking options.
