Jose Mourinho states his prediction for Watford v Man United
Jose Mourinho admits that Manchester United will have their work cut out against Watford on Tuesday night
Jose Mourinho has admitted that Manchester United will have their work cut out in trying to beat Watford in the Premier League at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to build on their 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Mourinho’s men are currently second in the Premier League table and aiming to keep themselves in the race for the title this season.
Manchester United are eight points behind the leaders Manchester City and will be keen to keep themselves in the title race before they welcome the Citizens to Old Trafford in a crunch derby clash on 10 December.
But Watford is Manchester United’s most pressing priority, and Mourinho admits that his team have some serious work to do to earn the three points in Vicarage Road.
Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Mourinho said: “Against Watford [last season], I was very upset with their first goal after someone put Martial in the hospital and the referee let it go. That is the reason why I was very upset.
“I think Watford have made progress. I think they have a squad full of very good players, that are not normal to be a mid-table team. They have a good coach and they improved a lot from last season.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table under Mourinho last season but won both the League Cup and Europa League to book their place in the Champions League for this season.
The Reds will aim to book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League when they host CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford next month.
