Robbie Fowler believes Liverpool could struggle defending set-pieces against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Reds have a poor record when it comes to conceding goals from dead ball situations since Jurgen Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.

Liverpool have managed to keep two successive clean sheets in back-to-back 3-0 victories over promoted side Huddersfield Town and Champions League opponents Maribor.

The Merseyside outfit have conceded 15 times in five top-flight games on the road in the Premier League this season to raise serious questions about Klopp’s defence.

The Liverpool boss withdrew centre-half Dejan Lovren after 32 minutes of their humiliating 4-1 loss to title rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley earlier this month.

Former Liverpool striker Fowler warned the Reds about their defending set-pieces at West Ham on Saturday evening.

“Liverpool’s vulnerability at the minute are the defensive set pieces and {coming up against} some of the strength, power and play from West Ham,” Fowler told Tag Heuer.

“Maybe the defensive frailties from set pieces are a way they could go down.”

Klopp failed to sign a new centre-half in the summer transfer window after Liverpool struggled to get a deal over the line from Southampton club captain Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool have only signed three defenders since Klopp took over the reins at Anfield despite bringing in 11 new faces since he replaced Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.

Robbie Fowler was speaking on behalf of TAG Heuer to promote the TAG Heuer Premier League Pressure Test. TAG Heuer is the Official Timekeeping Partner of the Premier League.
