Gary Neville hailed Jesse Lingard’s brilliant first goal in Manchester United’s 3-1 win at Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils made the long trip to the English capital in search of a fourth successive Premier League win following recent victories over Newcastle United, Brighton and Watford.

Manchester United were taking on an Arsenal side following 13 successive Premier League victories at The Emirates to give Arsene Wenger’s side confidence ahead of the visit of their bitter rivals.

The visitors made the breakthrough in the fourth minute thanks to Jesse Lingard, who was preferred to England colleague Marcus Rashford and former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Martial was named in Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up in a clear sign of Mourinho’s growing faith in the France international following a difficult 2016-17 season for the former Monaco striker.

And the 21-year-old helped the away side to extend their lead in the 11th minute after he teed up Lingard to make it 2-0 in front of the Arsenal supporters at The Emirates.

Lingard produced an impressive performance after he finished from close range following Paul Pogba’s powerful run and precise pass before the Frenchman was sent off.

Former Man United defender Neville praised Manchester United’s stylish second goal.

Neville wrote on Twitter: “Brilliant goal that!!!”
