The England international made his third Premier League start in a row for the Gunners after having won back his place in the starting line-up in Arsene Wenger’s team.
Shkodran Mustafi gave Arsenal the lead in the 25th minute when he finished from close range, but Andros Townsend pulled a goal back for the home side in the 49th minute.
Then a quick-fire double from Alexis Sanchez put Arsenal 3-1 up as the Gunners bounced back to winning ways following their 3-3 draw with Liverpool FC last Friday.
James Tomkins headed home for Palace in the 88th minute to set up a tense finale as Arsenal held on.
Wilshere was once again in impressive form for the Gunners as he helped Wenger’s men claim the three points at Selhurst Park.
And former Liverpool FC midfielder Murphy was particularly impressed by Wilshere’s role in Sanchez’s second goal in south London after his defence-splitting through-ball.
Speaking during NBC Sports‘ coverage of the game, Murphy said: “It also down to a wonderful pass from Wilshere.
“It’s a good run but look at that for a pass. This is what we’ve missed from Wilshere – his ability in the middle of the pitch.”
Arsenal’s win left them level on points with fifth placed Tottenham and in sixth place in the Premier League table.
The Gunners are next in action when they take on Chelsea on 3 January at The Emirates.
