The Arsenal defender opens up about where the Gunners went wrong in 3-1 loss to Man United on Saturday evening
Hector Bellerin felt Arsenal paid for their mistakes in Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
The Gunners welcomed their bitter Premier League rivals to north London in search of a 14th successive Premier League victory at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal made a disappointing start to the top-four clash when Ecuador international Antonio Valencia broke the deadlock in the fourth minute.
The north London side’s defence was left in disarray when English midfielder Jesse Lingard doubled the away side’s lead a mere seven minutes later.
Arsenal’s attacking players attempted to find a way back into the Premier League clash but David De Gea managed to keep out the hosts in the first half.
France international Alexandre Lacazette halved the deficit in the 48th minute before Lingard restored Manchester United’s two-goal cushion.
Bellerin delivered an honest reflect on Arsenal’s disappointing 3-1 loss to their bitter title rivals at the Emirates Stadium to end their 13-game winning run at home.
The Arsenal full-back posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“Still bitterly disappointed from yesterday. Felt the energy in the team was good but we paid for our mistakes, we will take the positives. Thank you for the great support.”

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table to miss out on a place in the Champions League.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004.
