Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea reflects on his performance in a 3-1 win at Arsenal on Saturday evening
David De Gea revelled in a “perfect night” at The Emirates following Manchester United’s 3-1 win against Arsenal on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils made the trip to the north London club in search of a fourth successive Premier League win to keep pace with leaders Manchester City.
Manchester United made the breakthrough in the fourth minute thanks to Antonio Valencia’s opener to settle the away side’s nerves at The Emirates.
The 20-time English champions flexed their attacking muscle in the opening 11 minutes when Jesse Lingard repaid his manager’s faith following excellent work from Anthony Martial.
De Gea was required to make a number of key saves to keep out Arsenal before the half-time break, although Alexandre Lacazette halved the deficit in the 48th minute.
Lingard restored Manchester United’s two-goal advantage after Paul Pogba managed to hold off the attention of Laurent Koscielny.
The French midfielder was sent off in the 74th minute and De Gea made a number of stops to keep out the Gunners who looked to exert their numerical advantage.
De Gea made 14 saves to equal a Premier League record and secure three points for the visitors.
And the Manchester United shot stopper posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption after their 3-1 win.
“A perfect night in London 💪🏻🔴 #mufc”
