Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Arsenal v Man United
The Liverpool legend is tipping Arsenal and Manchester United to play out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday evening
Mark Lawrenson is backing Manchester United to secure a point in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils will make the long trip to the English capital in search of a fourth successive Premier League win following victories over Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford over the past fortnight.
However, Manchester United have struggled on the road at the home of their direct rivals this season following a disappointing performance in a goalless draw with Liverpool FC at Anfield.
Former Manchester United target Alvaro Morata scored a 55th minute winner in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over their title rivals at Stamford Bridge at the end of October just weeks after Huddersfield Town secured a surprise 2-1 victory over the Red Devils.
Arsenal have won all seven of their home games at the Emirates Stadium this season and have in fact notched up 13th successive home Premier League victories.
Manchester United lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League back in May, although the Red Devils travelled to north London with one eye on the Europa League final.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson believes Manchester United will settle for a point in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League’s late kick-off on Saturday evening.
“This is a huge game, between two sides in the top six who are in good form, so you know what I am going for here – a 1-1 draw,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
