Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v Man United
The Liverpool legend is backing Manchester United to leave Arsenal with at least a point in the Premier League on Saturday evening
Michael Owen is backing Manchester United to secure at least a point at Arsenal in their top-four clash at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
The Red Devils will make the long trip to the English capital in search of a fourth successive Premier League victory in the title race.
The 20-time English champions lost 1-0 to title holders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their final game in October before the international break.
Manchester United have managed to beat Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford in their last three outings.
However, Jose Mourinho’s men will face a tough challenge on Saturday evening given Arsenal’s impressive run of form in the Premier League.
Similar to Manchester United, Arsenal bounced back from a 3-1 loss to Manchester City at the end of October with a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby.
The Gunners eased to a dramatic last-gap 1-0 win at Burnley last weekend before Arsene Wenger’s side put five goals past Huddersfield Town at The Emirates mid-week.
However, former Liverpool striker Owen is tipping Manchester United to leave north London with at least a point from their top-four clash.
“Arsenal have won their last 12 home games in a row but I can see United taking at least a point in the game of the weekend at the Emirates,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Mesut Ozil was involved in three goals (goal and two assists) in one game for the first time in his career against Huddersfield on Wednesday and the Gunners will not lack in confidence for what promises to be a cracking game. The Gunners scored five against Huddersfield midweek, but it is worth noting the visitors had their own chances.”
Owen added: “A fascinating contest, which could go either way although I am just swaying towards United.”
Manchester United finished in sixth spot and one point behind Arsenal last season.
