Ian Wright admits he wouldn’t settle for a Mesut Ozil-Henrikh Mkhitaryan swap deal.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Germany international from Arsenal.

Ozil has less than seven months remaining on his current Arsenal deal to alert Manchester United to the playmaker.

The Red Devils could secure Ozil in a cut-price deal or wait until the summer when the German star will be available for free.

Manchester United midfielder Mkhitaryan has been linked with a potential exit following a difficult spell at Old Trafford.

Indeed, the Armenia international hasn’t started a Premier League game since a 1-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October.

Mkhitaryan has scored two goals and has made six assists in 16 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Asked on BBC Radio 5 Live whether a Ozil-Mkhitaryan swap deal could of interest, former Arsenal striker Wright said:

“It’s very hard to do at the moment. He’s in the kind of form that we bought him for.

“Ozil is the kind of player you build a team around. When he is playing like that, he is unbelievable.”

Mkhitaryan moved to Manchester United from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in a £30m deal in the 2016 summer transfer window.

Arsenal signed Ozil in a £42.5m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in August 2013.
