Alexandre Lacazette: What I really think about Mesut Ozil at Arsenal
Alexandre Lacazette heaps praise on Mesut Ozil after having linked up with the German at Arsenal this season
Alexandre Lacazette has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil after having linked up with the Arsenal attacker since his move to The Emirates from Lyon in the summer.
The 26-year-old striker signed for the Gunners from the French side back in July as Arsene Wenger moved quickly to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates.
Lacazette has made a strong start to life in the Premier League and has already scored eight goals and made one assist in 16 top flight games this season.
Both Lacazette and Ozil started together as Arsenal came from behind to seal a 1-1 draw at Southampton on Sunday thanks to Olivier Giroud’s late equaliser.
And Lacazette has explained just why he is such a keen admirer of Ozil, after having linked up with him for the Gunners this term.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Lacazette said: “For Mesut, it’s about passes, his vision of the game and passes.
“And for Alexis [Sanchez], perseverance. He always wants to go further, be stronger and rise higher. As well as being very fast, he always wants go even further.
“I already get on very well with them in every day life. On the pitch, we’ve gotten to a point where we understand one another better, better than at the beginning.
“We learn more every day. But we already know how the other likes to play so it’s easier for us.”
Both Lacazette and Ozil will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a trip to West Ham United.
The Gunners are aiming to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League after they slumped to a 3-1 loss to Manchester United before their draw against Southampton.
