Arsenal to rekindle interest in proven 29-year-old defender in January – report
Arsenal are ready to enter the race to sign West Brom defender Jonny Evans following their interest in the summer, according to reports

Arsenal are ready to reignite their interest in West Brom defender Jonny Evans in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners are ready to step up their interest in the Northern Ireland international to help improve Arsene Wenger’s defence.
The same article states that FA Cup holders Arsenal failed with a £25m offer for the West Brom centre-half on transfer deadline day in August.
According to the same story, Evans is now open to a potential move next month should Arsenal make a big offer for the 29-year-old experienced defender.
Arsenal have struggled defensively this season after conceding 16 times in 14 games to undermine their title challenge.
The Gunners suffered heavy defeats at top-four rivals Liverpool FC and Manchester City to raise questions about Wenger’s back four.
Evans won three Premier League titles and two League Cups during nine seasons at Old Trafford before his switch to West Brom in 2015.
The 29-year-old scored seven times in 198 appearances in all competitions at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table ahead of the visit of Manchester United at the Emirates this weekend.
