Arsenal have agreed a £35m deal to sign Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet El Gol, as quoted by the Daily Express, is claiming that the north London side have agreed a £35m package to bring N’Zonzi to The Emirates in the new year.

The same report claims that the midfielder is “determined” to leave the Spanish club in the new year, and that Arsenal look set to secure his signature.

The story claims that the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City star is set to move to The Emirates after Arsenal agreed to pay £32.7m to Sevilla, plus another £2.6m coming on bonuses.

However, that figure still falls £2.65m short of the player’s release clause.

The 28-year-old has made 10 La Liga appearances for Sevilla so far this season.

Arsenal are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.

The speculation about Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s futures also looks set to continue, with neither player having penned a new deal and both of their contracts set to expire at the end of the season.
