Frank Lampard explains why Chelsea partnership works so well
The Chelsea legend has been impressed with the performances of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata
Frank Lampard has heaped praise on blossoming Chelsea partnership between Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata.
The Blues have been in impressive form in the Champions League and the Premier League over the past month or so to build some momentum.
Chelsea have won six of their last seven Premier League games to hoist themselves above Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur into third place in the table.
The title holders have eased to victories over Bournemouth, West Brom, Manchester United, Swansea City, Newcastle United and Watford.
Only Atletico Madrid, AS Roma and Liverpool FC have managed to take points off Antonio Conte’s men since their last Premier League defeat at Crystal Palace at the start of October.
Hazard and Morata have scored a combined nine times and have created five goals over the past 10 games as the Chelsea duo continue to build their understanding in Conte’s team.
Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard lifted the lid on why Hazard and Morata are proving such a hit working in tandem in the Blues side.
“We were talking about the link-up between Morata and Hazard before the game and we saw it in the first half,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“Top attacking players know what each other are doing and their positions. Hazard is very intelligent and is very aware of where he is.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title for the second time in three seasons back in May after finishing seven points above Tottenham Hotspur.
The west London side signed six players in the summer transfer window, including Morata in a £58m deal from Real Madrid.
