The pair played together at Chelsea for a time before Salah was eventually sold to Roma on a permanent transfer.
The Egypt international signed for Liverpool FC in the summer transfer window and has been in fine form for the Reds, scoring 10 goals in his first 13 Premier League appearances this season.
However, Nevin was clearly less than impressed with one of Salah’s tackles on Hazard during the game at Anfield last Saturday, which he believes was one of the turning points of the clash.
Writing in his column for Chelsea’s website, Nevin said: “After Salah’s kick, Eden was clearly hampered and I have to say I was devastated for him.
“He was clearly in peak form and peak fitness with absolutely nothing troubling him. It is amazing how unusual that is for a footballer, who usually has some little niggle affecting him somewhere in his body.
“Even if it is just a strapped-up ankle that no one outside the dressing room knows about, it can have a little effect.
“For Eden until that kick, he looked completely free and flying. It also helped that he was playing more centrally so was getting on the ball constantly, but it all looked so easy for him.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon with a crunch clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are aiming to try and defend their Premier League title this season after having lifted the trophy in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge in west London last season.
Conte’s men secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League last week thanks to a 4-0 win over Qarabag.
