Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to edge to a close-fought win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday night.

The Red Devils will make the trip to Leicester looking to bounce back from a shock 2-1 loss to Championship side Bristol City in the League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday night.

Manchester United have won their last two Premier League games since a 2-1 defeat by leaders Manchester City in their derby clash at Old Trafford earlier this month.

Jose Mourinho’s men were unconvincing 1-0 winners against Bournemouth last week before a 2-1 triumph over West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

The Red Devils were resounding 4-0 winners against Leicester City in their Premier League meeting at Old Trafford back in September.

But the Foxes have managed to consolidate under new manager Claude Puel following a return of five victories, two stalemates and two defeats.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Manchester United to emerge victorious in a high-scoring Premier League game at Leicester on Saturday night.

“United have won their last three away from home in the league but have actually conceded in their last five and I think there will be goals in the King Power,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Foxes weren’t able to stop the City juggernaut in the League Cup midweek and they will do well to get something from the visit of United who have their talisman Paul Pogba available following his recent three-match ban.

“It promises to be an open entertaining contest – United might shade it but I will be surprised if both sides don’t find the back of the net.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season but won the Europa League and the League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge.

The Red Devils signed three players in the summer transfer window.
