Bellamy names 25-year-old attacker as Liverpool FC’s key player v Everton
The former Liverpool striker believes Philippe Coutinho will be the decisive player in the Merseyside derby
Craig Bellamy has warned Everton that Philippe Coutinho will be Liverpool FC’s most dangerous player in Sunday’s derby.
The Toffees will make the short trip across Stanley Park to take on Jurgen Klopp’s free-scoring outfit at Anfield.
Coutinho scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 5-1 win against promoted side Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.
He earned particular praise for a cunning free-kick to help put the three points beyond doubt in the Premier League clash.
The Brazil international continued his fine form with a hat-trick in Liverpool FC’s 7-0 victory over Spartak Moscow last weekend.
The Liverpool FC number 10 has scored four goals and has made four assists in eight Premier League appearances this term.
Former Liverpool FC striker Bellamy warned Everton about in-form Coutinho ahead of this weekend’s derby clash at Anfield.
“What I see with Coutinho when he has been injured, it takes him one or two games to find his rhythm when he has been injured. It’s been the case [now]. Going into the derby, he is in form,” Bellamy told The Debate on Sky Sports on Wednesday night.
“He was outstanding against Brighton and Spartak. When Coutinho is in form, Liverpool are very dangerous.”
Coutinho scored in the Reds’ 3-1 win against Everton in their last derby at Anfield back in March.
