Jamie Carragher sends warning to Liverpool FC about Everton manager
The Liverpool FC legend warns Jurgen Klopp's side about the Sam Allardyce factor ahead of Sunday's Merseyside derby
Jamie Carragher has reminded Liverpool FC about Sam Alladyce’s excellent record at Anfield ahead if the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
Everton will make the short trip across Stanley Park to take on Liverpool FC in the first Merseyside derby of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
The Toffees have won their three games in all competitions since Allardyce took over the reins from caretaker manager David Unsworth last month.
Liverpool FC are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games to hoist themselves up to fourth place in the top-flight table.
The 18-time English champions have scored 12 goals in their last two fixtures following victories over Brighton and Hove Albion and Spartak Moscow.
Allardyce masterminded Crystal Palace’s victory over Liverpool at Anfield last season, while the ex-England boss has avoided defeat in 11 of his 26 games against the Reds.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher has warned Jurgen Klopp and his Reds players about the Allardyce factor ahead of their Premier League clash this weekend.
“He has been to Anfield many times with different teams and the last time he came, he won with Crystal Palace towards the end of last season,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“So yes, he will probably have belief that he can come here and win, but Everton will also be well aware of the attacking talent Liverpool have got.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
