Rio Ferdinand names Liverpool FC’s ‘manipulator’ this season
Rio Ferdinand heaps praise on Philippe Coutinho following his strong form for Liverpool FC this season

Rio Ferdinand has lavished praise on Philippe Coutinho following the Brazilian playmaker’s strong form for Liverpool FC this season.
The Brazilian playmaker has been in top form for Jurgen Klopp’s side this term despite his future at the club looking to be in the balance in the summer.
Coutinho was heavily linked with a transfer to Barcelona in the summer transfer window but the Reds refused to do business and opted to keep hold of their talisman.
The 25-year-old has been in sparkling form for the Reds and has scored nine goals in all competitions so far this season.
Coutinho will be expecting to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds take on Everton in their crunch Merseyside derby clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has been hugely impressed by the Brazilian’s form this term.
Ferdinand told BT Sport last week: “He is the manipulator. He gets things going. Everything goes through him in terms of going forward and creativity in this team.”
The ex-defender also believes that Coutinho would warrant a price tag of as much as £130m should he leave Anfield.
He added: “We’re talking about figures of £130m. The only thing I’d say is he going to get enough goals to warrant that. On this form, you’d say yes [he is worth that much].”
Liverpool FC head into their clash with Everton in third place in the Premier League table as they look to try and catch leaders Manchester City in the race for the title.
