Rio Ferdinand has lavished praise on Roberto Firmino following his strong form for Liverpool FC so far this season.
The Brazilian attacker has been in top form for Jurgen Klopp’s men so far this term and and has been earning rave reviews in an attacking quartet with Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah.
Firmino has scored 11 goals and made five assists in all competitions for the Reds this season and has earned huge amounts of praise for his performances.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand is a huge fan of the Brazil international, and he is particularly impressed by one of his attributes that he feels goes unnoticed by many.
Speaking to BT Sport on Wednesday night, Ferdinand said: “I think what sometimes goes unnoticed is Roberto Firmino’s work.
“Everyone talks about his work-rate but a lot of the goals they [Liverpool FC] score starts with the ball going into him, it sticking and him laying it off for the third man.
“He’s a fantastic footballer – there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch Merseyside derby clash against Everton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds head into the game looking to build on their impressive recent form, with Klopp’s side having thrashed Brighton 5-1 last weekend before their 7-0 demolition of Spartak Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Liverpool FC will be aiming to try and get themselves back into the title race this season after they finished fourth in the Premier League last term.
