Chris Smalling described world champion boxer Anthony Joshua as Manchester United’s “lucky mascot” following Saturday evening’s 3-1 win at Arsenal.

The Red Devils made the long trip to the English capital looking to extend their winning run to four Premier League games and keep pressure on runaway leaders Manchester City.

Manchester United required four minutes to make the breakthrough when Anthony Valencia managed to beat Petr Cech to put the Red Devils in command of the Premier League clash.

The 20-time English champions doubled their lead in 11th minute through England international Jesse Lingard following good work from Anthony Martial on the wing.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea equalled a Premier League record when he made 14 saves at the Emirates Stadium but Alexandre Lacazette managed to halve the deficit in the 48th minute.

The Red Devils restored their two-goal cushion thanks to Lingard’s second goal of the Premier League League clash before Paul Pogba received a straight red card with 16 minutes to go.
