Rio Ferdinand sends Man United warning to Man City
Rio Ferdinand believes things are looking up for Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title

Rio Ferdinand has warned Manchester City that Manchester United proved that they can take the initiative in big games with their impressive victory over Arsenal on Saturday.
Two goals from Jesse Lingard after Antonio Valencia’s opener handed Jose Mourinho’s men the three points at The Emirates, despite Alexandre Lacazette netting a goal for the hosts in the second half.
Manchester United were impressive throughout and produced a strong and confident attacking display in north London to take all three points back to Old Trafford.
With Manchester City having only dropped points on on occasion so far this season, the stage is set for a thrilling Manchester derby between the two sides at Old Trafford on Sunday.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand reckons that the Red Devils have showed that they have the ability to get on the front-foot in a big game against one of their rivals with their win at Arsenal.
Speaking to BT Sport after Saturday’s game, former defender Ferdinand said: “Man United showed a different side to them in the way they played [at Arsenal].
“They were on the front foot early in the game and took the result. They weren’t waiting to get chances.”
Manchester United are currently second in the Premier League table as they bid to try and win the title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge back in 2013.
