The 21-year-old midfielder has been in good form for the Red Devils this season whenever called upon by Jose Mourinho.
He has made six appearances in all competitions this season for the Red Devils and will be hoping to hold down a more regular spot in the first team in the coming weeks and months.
McTominay made his first start in the Premier League for Manchester United last week as he helped Mourinho’s men notch up a 1-0 win over Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
And Serbian midfielder Matic feels sure that McTominay has all of the needed ingredients to develop into a big player at Old Trafford.
Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Matic said: “He has exactly what he needs to become a big player.
“He’s working a lot every day and is looking to the older players to take things from them and to learn.
“And I’m sure that he will be an England star and a Manchester United star because I think he is born for this job.
“The manager is there to explain to someone like Scott what he needs to do and I’m really happy for him.
“He’s a good guy and I’m sure in the future he will get more chances to play and show his qualities.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against West Brom on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to make it back to back wins after their victory over Bournemouth in midweek.
Manchester United, who finished sixth in the table last term, have not won the Premier League title since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
