Man United made 26-year-old Brazilian their top January transfer target – report
Manchester United want to beat Chelsea to the signing of Alex Sandro next year, say reports
Manchester United have made Alex Sandro their top January transfer target as they try and beat Chelsea to his signature, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Record is reporting that the Red Devils are hoping to steal a march on their Premier League rivals and land the 26-year-old left-back from Juventus in the new year.
Chelsea were heavily linked with a move to sign Sandro in the summer transfer window but a move failed to materialise as he ended up staying in Turin.
The story claims that Manchester United have now stepped up their interest in Sandro and that the Red Devils regard the Brazilian as the best option to strengthen the left-back position at Old Trafford.
Luke Shaw has been struggling to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Manchester United in recent months and only made his first start of the season last week.
The same report claims that Sandro himself has his heart set on a move to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether Manchester United or Chelsea will end up being his destination.
The defender has scored one goal and made three assists in nine Serie A games for Juventus so far this season.
