Manchester United have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco in the January transfer window, according to reports.

Yahoo! Sport, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Manchester United are now among the clubs wanting to sign Lemar in the new year.

The same story also says that Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool FC have also expressed an interest in signing Lemar in recent weeks.

Lemar, 22, has scored two goals and made four assists in 13 Ligue 1 games for the French side this season.

The same report also states that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has an £80m budget to spend in the January transfer window as he looks to try and bolster his squad.

Manchester United are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws nearer.

Mourinho finds himself under pressure to add to his squad after the Red Devils fell a staggering 13 points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their home Premier League clash against Burnley on Boxing Day, as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of their 2-2 draw with Leicester on Saturday.
