Man United told top 27-year-old will leave current club
The Chelsea legend is backing Danny Rose to leave Tottenham amid interest from Man United
Manchester United target Danny Rose will leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Andy Townsend has claimed.
The Red Devils have been regularly linked with a move to sign the England international over the past 18 months.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho is rumoured to be a big admirer of the 27-year-old full-back as the Manchester United boss looks to address a problem position in the Red Devils side.
Rose established himself as one of the Premier League’s best left-backs under Mauricio Pochettino but the Spurs defender has fallen out with his current boss.
Indeed, Kyle Walker’s £50m move to Manchester City has set a dangerous precedent as top clubs continue to be linked with Tottenham’s big stars such as Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Rose.
Former Chelsea defender Townsend believes Rose will leave the north London club next summer.
“I think Danny Rose will move on in the summer. He will have seen how Kyle Walker is doing at Man City. He might pick up a trophy,” Townsend told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Rose has been sidelined for almost 12 months with a serious knee problem before he returned to the Tottenham team over the past four weeks.
Tottenham finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but seven points adrift of eventual champions Chelsea.
