The Red Devils will make the trip to West Brom in search of another three points and more importantly an improved performance following their disappointing display in a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth mid-week.
Manchester United’s title challenge hangs in the balance after goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi helped Manchester City to ease to a 2-1 win against their bitter rivals and secure an 11 point lead at the top of the table.
Romelu Lukaku got on the score sheet with the winner against the Cherries in what Manchester United supporters will hope can prove a goal that can trigger a run for the summer signing.
And the Belgian forward will return to his former club West Brom in their next Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.
Former Manchester United striker Owen is tipping Jose Mourinho’s side to edge to victory over Alan Pardew’s West Brom side at the Hawthorns Stadium.
“West Brom got an excellent point at Anfield midweek but they have lost eight of their last 11 Premier League games at the Hawthorns against United and I expect the visitors to take the points.
“Romelu Lukaku will have been delighted to score the winning goal against Bournemouth midweek and he famously scored a hat-trick in this corresponding fixture back in May 2013 when a second half substitute in the 5-5 draw that brought the curtain down on the managerial career of Sir Alex Ferguson.”
Lukaku has scored nine goals in 17 games in the Premier League this season since his £75m move to Manchester United from Everton in the summer transfer window.
