Michael Owen states his prediction for West Ham v Chelsea
The Liverpool FC legend is backing Chlelsea to win to nil against West Ham United on Saturday evening
Michael Owen is backing Chelsea to win to nil against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The defending Premier League champions will make short trip across the English capital in search of three points following a 1-1 stalemate with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid mid-week.
Chelsea have endured some inconsistent results in the Champions League over the past couple of months despite Antonio Conte’s men securing a place in the last 16 of the competition.
The Blues have been steadily climbing up the Premier League table following a run of six victories and one stalemate in their last seven Premier League games.
The title holders have beaten Bournemouth, Manchester United, West Brom, Swansea City, Newcastle United and Watford to hoist themselves up to third place in the Premier League table.
Chelsea are looking to win their third Premier League title in their last four seasons.
Former Liverpool striker Owen is backing Chelsea to beat West Ham in the English capital on Saturday afternoon.
“David Moyes will break an unwanted Premier League record in Saturday’s early kick off when he manages a side for the 41st successive PL game who start the fixture in the relegation zone,” Owen told BetVictor.
“I would be surprised if that unwelcome run ends following the visit of the champions, despite an improved showing from the Hammers at the Etihad last weekend.
“The hosts may well score but with Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata in such good form for the visitors, it is difficult to look beyond an away win.”
Chelsea lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley last season.
The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to strengthen the squad ahead of their return to the Champions League.
