Ian Wright is hoping there is much more to come from Arsenal record signing Alexandre Lacazette.

The France international was signed in a £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Lacazette hit the ground running with a goal inside of two minutes of his home debut in a 4-3 win over Leicester City.

However, the 26-year-old has hit a brick wall in the Premier League before his goal in a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Indeed, the striker’s effort was his first goal in 10 games in all competitions to finally end his lengthy goal drought.

Former Arsenal forward Wright is confident that Lacazette will come good at the north London club despite some inconsistent form.

“Lacazette is someone I have a lot of time for and I don’t think he has been treated with the kind of respect that he deserves for the goal-scorer he is,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.

Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Lacazette’s idol Thierry Henry fired the Gunners to the top-flight crown.

The Gunners signed Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap deal with Manchester United on Monday evening.

Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United from the north London side as part of the same transfer.
