Gary Neville has described Alexis Sanchez as a “dynamite” player following his impressive Arsenal performance.

The Gunners forward could move to Premier League leaders Manchester City in the January transfer window given the South American has six months remaining on his current deal.

Arsenal nearly sold Sanchez to the Citizens in the summer but Arsene Wenger was unable to secure a replacement for the number seven after Monaco forward Thomas Lemar turned down the Gunners.

Sanchez was impressive in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday night despite failing to get on the score sheet.

The Gunners forward has scored three times in his last five games in the Premier League to hit some good form.

Former Manchester United defender Neville was impressed with the South American’s performances in recent weeks.

“Sanchez is always dynamite when you watch him,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.

“Apart from the end of last season when he struggled a little bit, he is always someone who is always fighting to get the ball, win a tackle and win the game.”

Sanchez netted 24 times in 38 games in the Premier League last season but Arsenal still missed out on a top-four finish.

The Gunners signed Sanchez in a 35m deal from La Liga giants Barcelona in the 2014 summer transfer window.
