Thierry Henry praised Arsenal for giving the “right answer” after he watched the Gunners book their place in the League Cup final in style.

The north London side came from a goal down to claim their spot in the showpiece against Manchester City next month after having produced an impressive display against their local rivals.

Arsenal have been in impressive form against Chelsea in recent seasons, with the Gunners having got the better of the Blues in the FA Cup final and Community Shield at Wembley last year.

The Gunners have now booked their place in the League Cup final and will take on Pep Guardiola’s men at Wembley on 25 February.

Wednesday night’s game was Arsenal’s first since Alexis Sanchez’s high-profile move to Manchester United earlier in the week.

And Arsenal legend Henry feels that the north London side have given the perfect response to the Chilean’s move away from The Emirates.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game on Wednesday night, Henry said: “This is one of the games you won’t have to remember who scored or how they scored because it was lucky.

“But they go to the final. It’s another final for Arsenal and another final for Arsene.

“That was the right answer after Alexis Sanchez left. You beat Chelsea.”

Arsenal are now preparing for a weekend off before they return to Premier League action on Tuesday night with a trip to Swansea City.

The north London side are aiming to at least finish in the top four this season.
