Ian Wright says Granit Xhaka still has a lot to prove to Arsenal fans following the midfielder’s move to the club back in 2016.

The Swiss midfielder has been a regular fixture in the Gunners’ starting line-up this season but it is fair to say that he divides opinions amongst fans.

Xhaka has started all 24 of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season and it is clear that Arsene Wenger rates the 25-year-old relatively highly.

However, many Gunners supporters feel that the midfielder has still not delivered on a consistent basis since his move to the club from Borussia Monchengladbach back in 2016.

And Arsenal legend Wright has admitted that he is yet to be fully convinced by the midfielder as he continues to adapt to life at The Emirates.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, Wright said: “I haven’t seen enough from Xhaka. He hasn’t done enough for me. I haven’t seen it.”

Xhaka will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action with a trip to Swansea City on Tuesday 30 January.

The north London side are aiming to get their top-four bid back on track, with Wenger’s men currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and secure Champions League qualification this term.
