Jack Wilshere has taken to social media to play down fears about his fitness after the midfielder was forced off during Arsenal’s goalless draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Wilshere captained the Gunners at Stamford Bridge for the League Cup semi-final clash but was forced off in the 57th minute after suffering an ankle problem.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been plagued by injuries in the past and his latest setback had prompted fears that he could be out for another considerable spell.

However, Wilshere has used his personal Instagram account to play down fears about his latest injury problem.

The midfielder posted the picture above on his social media account and wrote the caption: “Thanks for all the messages and support after last night. Good news is i should be back in a couple of days 🙆‍♂️⚽️💪.”

It is not yet clear whether Wilshere will be able to feature for Arsenal when they return to Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to his former side Bournemouth.

Arsenal head into that game in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and break back into the Champions League spots.

The Gunners had to settle for a place in the Europa League this season after having missed out on Champions League qualification and a top four finish last term.
