The Germany playmaker has been in much improved form for the Gunners in recent weeks and has been earning plenty of praise for his displays for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Ozil’s situation at Arsenal continues to be a relentless source of speculation after both he and Alexis Sanchez entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at The Emirates.
It remains to be seen whether the World Cup winner will end up staying at Arsenal beyond the end of his current deal.
However, Arsenal’s record goal-scorer Henry is clearly a big supporter of the Germany international.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Henry said: “The thing is, when you’re a player like Mesut Ozil, people always expect more – and they should because your supposed to be the guy who makes the team tick and win.
“You expect him to put Arsenal on his back along with Alexis Sanchez.
“He has sometimes has a body language where he looks like he’s not trying. But that’s the way he plays, so you have to get on with it.
“When you are of that quality, people are going to talk about you after the game. When Arsenal are having a good game, he is having a good game usually.”
Ozil will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners taken on Chelsea in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
The German will be keen to add the League Cup to his trophy haul, with Ozil having already won the FA Cup three times since signing for Arsenal back in 2013.
Arsenal are currently in sixth place in the Premier League as they look to try and break back into the top four.
