Matt Le Tissier believes that Arsenal need to sign players to replace both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Both Ozil and Sanchez look to be on course to leave the north London side this year after both of them entered into the final few months of their contracts at The Emirates.

Neither player appears ready to commit their futures to Arsenal by signing a new deal and that could mean that the Gunners could lose them both on free transfers in the summer unless they try and cash-in in the January transfer window.

Should both Ozil and Sanchez leave the Gunners in 2018, that would leave Arsenal needing to find some quality replacements in the transfer window.

And Le Tissier believes that signing a clear replacements for Sanchez or Ozil should be Arsenal’s top priority in the transfer windows this year.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Friday, Le Tissier said: “If they’re going to be losing the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott, that’s quite a few squad members that’s going to leave them a little bit short I’d say.

“I’d imagine they’d need to bring people in to strengthen in those positions – the Ozil and Sanchezs of this world.

“It’s highly unlikely that these two are going to sign new contracts now and so they’ve got to be looking for some top quality world-class replacements in those positions because otherwise Arsenal could be in danger of becoming a run of the mill Premier League team.”

Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon as they look to return to winning ways in the top flight.

The Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw by Chelsea in their most recent Premier League outing last week, before their shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
