Arsenal target 21-year-old after signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan – report
Arsenal are eyeing a move to sign Mainz defender Abdou Diallo, according to reports in the British media
Arsenal have turned their attentions towards strengthening their defence and Mainz defender Abdou Diallo is one of their top targets, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the 21-year-old defender is one of Arsene Wenger’s transfer priorities this month as he looks to try and strengthen his rearguard options at The Emirates.
The same report states that West Brom defender Jonny Evans also remains as one of Arsenal’s top targets in defence this month as Wenger looks to try and further add to his squad.
The French defender has scored two goals and made one assist in 16 Bundesliga games for Mainz so far this season and has reportedly been attracting the interest of Wenger.
The same story in the Daily Mirror suggests that transfer funds will not be a problem for the north London side as they look to further bolster their squad this month.
Arsenal confirmed the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United on Monday as part of the same deal which saw Alexis Sanchez head to Old Trafford.
The Gunners continue to be linked with a host of players this month as Wenger considers further bolstering his squad in the mid-season transfer window.
