Arsene Wenger has once again poured cold water on reports suggesting that the Gunners could make a move to try and sign Malcom from Bordeaux in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to The Emirates in recent weeks as Wenger considers bolstering his attacking options at the north London side.

Malcom has been in good form for the French side so far this season and has scored seven goals and made five assists in 20 Ligue 1 games this term.

However, Wenger did not appear to be in the mood to give much away when he was quizzed about the speculation linking the Gunners with a move to sign Malcom this month.

Asked directly if it was likely Arsenal will sign Malcom in the January transfer window, Wenger told a news conference on Thursday morning: “I don’t think so, no.”

Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners are aiming to get themselves back into the race for a top-four finish this season, with the Gunners having ended up in fifth place in the table last term.

Arsenal are currently sixth and eight points off fourth-placed Chelsea.
