Arsene Wenger told 28-year-old striker would bring ‘character’ to Arsenal
Sky Sports pundit Nigel Reo-Coker suggests Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will bring "character" and "personality" to Arsenal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will bring character and personality to the Arsenal team, according to former West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.
The Gabon international is being heavily linked with a move to the north London side as Arsenal look to find a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners striker is being tipped to move to bitter rivals Manchester United in the January transfer window after Manchester City ended their interest in the Chile international.
Aubameyang has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers following the 28-year-old striker’s impressive a return of 141 goals in 212 games during a five-season stint at Dortmund.
The African forward has regularly been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League over the past couple of seasons but a move to Chelsea or Liverpool FC has failed to materialise.
Former West Ham captain Reo-Coker believes Aubameyang would be a brilliant addition to the Arsenal team.
“He’s young, he’s exciting, he’s one of Europe’s best talents right now,” Reo-Coker told Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning.
|He’s very similar to that Arsenal style of players. Hopefully he’ll bring a bit more personality and character to Arsenal and hopefully he’ll be a success there.
“Arsenal are lacking a bit of character in their squad still.”
Arsenal signed France striker Alexandre Lacazette in a £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window.
The France forward has scored eight goals in 21 games in the Premier League in his first season in England.
The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
