Borussia Dortmund have told Arsenal that they will have to match their asking price for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or not sign the striker this month.

The north London side have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 28-year-old striker as Arsene Wenger looks to add to his attacking options at The Emirates.

However, despite all of the media talk, the Gunners have not yet been able to agree a price with the German club for the transfer of the Gabon international.

It now remains to be seen whether the north London side will be able to negotiate a deal with the German outfit before the close of the January transfer window on Wednesday.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has now officially confirmed Arsenal’s interest but said that the north Londoners will have to raise their price if they want to sign Aubameyang this month.

Speaking on Saturday, Zorc was quoted as saying by Metro: “We are prepared to implement a transfer under certain parameters – but only if these parameters are fully met.

“Arsenal has started several attempts so far. We have rejected all of the offers so far.

“Either our demands are fulfilled, then there can be another transfer or else they will not be fulfilled and Auba will play in Dortmund until the summer, so it is also discussed and accepted by the Aubameyang family.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Swansea City on Tuesday night.

The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and break back into the Champions League for next season.
