Arsenal open talks to sign quality 28-year-old attacker to replace Sanchez – report
Arsenal have opened talks to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports
Arsenal have opened talks to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the north London side are keen to secure the services of the 28-year-old Gabon international as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options in the mid-season transfer window.
The same report says that Gunners’ new recruitment chief Sven Mislintat know Aubameyang from his time at Dortmund and that Arsenal could get the deal done in the January transfer window.
Aubameyang has been in good form for Dortmund so far this season, scoring 13 goals and making three assists in 15 Bundesliga games for the German club.
The same story says that Dortmund could demand as much as £60m for Aubameyang this month, but that Arsenal are not willing to pay anywhere near that much for the attacker.
It is also claimed that although Arsenal do have an interest in signing Malcom from Bordeaux, Aubameyang has now emerged as the Gunners’ top attacking target this month.
Arsenal will aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they take on Crystal Palace at The Emirates in front of their home fans.
