Balague: Arsenal willing to pay €60m to sign quality 28-year-old this month
Arsenal are willing to pay around €60m to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, says Guillem Balague
Arsenal are willing to pay around €60m to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund this month, according to Guillem Balague.
The north London side have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Gabon international in recent days as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his attacking options at The Emirates in the mid-season transfer window.
Now, Spanish football expert Balague has claimed that Arsenal have already had an initial offer for Aubameyang turned down by Dortmund.
However, he also says that Arsenal are prepared to return with a new bid, and that a fee of around €60m (£53m) should be enough to tempt Dortmund into selling the 28-year-old attacker.
Balague wrote on Twitter on Saturday: “Aubemayang offer from Arsenal not enough but it was only the first. €60m should take him, Arsenal willing to pay around that.”
Aubameyang has been in good form for Dortmund so far this season and has scored 13 goals and made three assists in 15 Bundesliga games so far for the German side.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for the return leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea on Wednesday night after their goalless draw with the Blues in the first leg earlier this month.
Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday with a comfortable 4-1 win over Crystal Palace at The Emirates.
