Sky Sports reporter delivers latest update on Arsenal bid to sign Aubameyang
Kaveh Solhekol delivers the latest news on Arsenal's bid to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Arsenal are still £10m short of Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The north London side have been heavily linked with a move to try and sign the 28-year-old Gabon striker in recent days and Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the Gunners are exploring the possibility.
However, it is understood that the Gunners have still not matched Dortmund’s asking price for the striker as the January transfer deadline looms on the horizon.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has revealed that Dortmund are holding out for a fee of around £60m for Aubameyang, but Arsenal’s latest offer was for £50m.
Solhekol wrote on Twitter over the weekend: “Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says they’ll sell Aubameyang if Arsenal pay the asking price. Dortmund want £60m. Arsenal last offer £50m.”
Arsenal have already been busy in the January transfer window after having offloaded Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Francis Coquelin.
The Gunners did bring in Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the deal which saw Sanchez head to Manchester United last week.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Swansea City on Tuesday night, a game in which Mkhitaryan could make his debut for the north London side.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.
