Sky Sports reporter delivers latest update on Arsenal’s link to Brazilian winger
Kaveh Solhekol delivers the latest news on Arsenal's reported interest in signing Malcom from Bordeaux this month
Arsenal are unlikely to sign Malcom from Bordeaux in the January transfer window, according to reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The north London side have been heavily linked with a move to land the 20-year-old winger as Arsene Wenger considers adding to his attacking options at The Emirates.
Malcom has been in good form for Bordeaux this season and has scored seven goals and made five assists in 20 Ligue 1 games for the French side this term.
The speculation linking Malcom with a switch to Arsenal seems to be continuing, but Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has now suggested that it is unlikely the Gunners will sign Malcom this month.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Thursday morning, Solhekol said: “Arsenal want to sign Malcom, the Brazilian winger. He’s valued at about £40m by Bordeaux.
“Lots of other clubs including Spurs and Manchester United have been tracking him.
“But it doesn’t look like he’ll be moving to Arsenal this month. Interestingly, Bordeaux have sacked their manager this week.”
Arsenal are currently preparing for their home Premier League clash against Crystal Palace in front of their home fans on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners are aiming to get back to winning ways in the top flight after the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend.
Wenger’s men are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea heading into this weekend’s round of games.
The north London side finished fifth and missed out on Champions League qualification last season.
