Sky Sports reporter confirms Arsenal’s number one January target
Kaveh Solhekol reveals that Arsenal are indeed in the hunt to sign Brazilian attacker Malcom from Bordeaux
Malcom is Arsenal’s number one transfer target in the January window, according to reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players over the last few days as the uncertainty about Alexis Sanchez’s future at The Emirates rumbled on.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and 20-year-old Bordeaux winger Malcom has been touted as a possible target for the north London side.
Malcom has been in fine form for Bordeaux so far this season, scoring seven goals and making five assists in 19 Ligue 1 appearances for the French side.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has revealed that Arsenal are indeed interested in bringing the talented young Brazilian attacker to The Emirates this month.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Monday, Solhekol said: “Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he’ll only let Sanchez go if Arsenal sign a replacement.
“Their number one target is Brazilian winger Malcom.
“His agents were in London this weekend, they returned to France to see Malcom set up Bordeaux’s winner against Troyes on Saturday night.
“Bordeaux value Malcom at more than £40m. We heard from the Bordeaux owner who said that Malcom would not leave this month.
“Also, the Bordeaux president said there is nothing new to say about Arsenal.”
Arsenal are currently bidding to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after their 2-1 loss to Bournemouth in the top flight last weekend.
The Gunners will host Crystal Palace in the top flight on Saturday as they look to get their bid for a top-four finish back on track.
Arsenal are currently in sixth place in the table and eight points adrift of the top four.
